Above Ground Pools

Buy & Install yourself, the perfect weekend DIY project

If you would prefer to tackle the project yourself, an above ground pool in Melbourne is the ideal solution. These designs are perfect for almost any home and outdoor space; all you need to do is choose the design that you like best. Pools R Us is committed to providing the highest quality kits.

Why our above ground pools?

Fast Turnaround

The great thing about these pools is that they have a much faster turnaround time than both our fibreglass and concrete options. In what feels like no time at all, you’ll be splashing around and having a ball.

Above, Partially Inground & Inground

New technology has meant that these pools can also be installed partially or even completely inground if the above ground look is not for you. A partially inground installation is often used on sloped sites.

Range of Shapes

We have four main shapes to choose from – including: oval, round, teardrop and lap – ensuring that you can find your perfect match. Pools R Us can also provide you with deep-end options if desired.

Perfect for the DIY-er

Whilst we will happily recommend an installer for your kit, if you would prefer to handle the installation yourself you will be provided with DVD instructions that will outline the whole process, from start to finish.

Installation process for our above ground pools

1. Engineering, Permits & Insurances

The first thing you will need to do is select your kit and ensure that it’s the right choice for your property. You will also need to obtain permits from your local council and any relevant insurances.

2. Setting Out & Excavation (if needed)

The next step is to set out the perimeter of your new pool to ensure you put it in the right spot. If you have decided to partially or completely bury the frame, you will need to arrange for the excavation to occur.

3. Build Frame, Fit Liner & Plumbing

The final step is to build the frame for your pool, put the wall up (to ensure that it keeps its shape) and fit the liner. You can then move onto the plumbing for the pump and drainage system, then you’re done.

How long will it take to build my pool?

Ultimately, an installer will be able to get it done in a day whilst a DIY-er will generally take a weekend. The complexity of the project (such as whether you need to excavate or not) will also play a role in build time.

How much do these kits cost?

This will depend on a number of factors (including the size, shape and depth of your pool), however, you can expect to spend between $5000 and $8000.

How long do these pools tend to last?

Pools R Us offers a 25 year warranty on all above ground pools in Melbourne, so you can rest assured that it will last well into the future.

Do I need to use salt or chlorinated water?

The good news is that these kits are suitable for both salt and chlorinated water systems – take your pick!

Is blue the only colour option available?

No, there is actually a range of different liner colours to choose from. As we’re adding new ones and discontinuing old ones all the time, we recommend speaking with a helpful team member for our current shades.
